- Which files can I inspect?
- Almost any: JPEG, PNG, HEIC, RAW photos, MP4, MOV, MP3, FLAC, WAV, PDF, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, EPUB and many more. The viewer reads the file with ExifTool, which understands hundreds of formats.
- Does the viewer change my file?
- No. It only reads the file. Nothing is saved: the file is deleted from our server the moment the list is ready.
- Is my file uploaded?
- Yes, for this tool, because reading hundreds of formats needs a server. It is held for the length of the request and deleted straight away. To read a photo without any upload, use the EXIF viewer, which runs in your browser.
- What do the highlighted fields mean?
- They are tags that usually point at a person, a device, a program or a place: GPS position, serial numbers, author and owner names, camera make and model, software and original dates.
- How do I remove what I find?
- Use the matching metadata remover: photos, PDFs, documents, audio, video or RAW. They show the same fields and delete them.
