Terms of Service

Plain rules for using MetadataTools.io.

Using the service

Clean only files you own or have permission to change. Do not use the service to hide evidence, to forge the origin of a file, or to break the law. We may suspend accounts or block addresses that abuse the service.

What cleaning does and does not do

We remove hidden metadata and check the result. That is not the same as anonymity: faces, street signs, writing inside an image or a document and the file name itself can still identify people and places. Look at what you share, and keep your originals.

Plans, billing and renewal

Free use has daily and monthly allowances. Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance and renew automatically until you cancel in Billing. Cancelling stops the next charge and the plan stays active until the period you paid for ends. Refunds are covered in the refund policy. Prices and allowances may change; a change never applies to a period you have already paid for.

API and MCP fair use

API keys are personal to your account. Do not share them, publish them or resell access. Requests are rate-limited, and automated use must stay within the allowances of your plan. A leaked key can be revoked from the dashboard.

No warranty

The service is provided as is. We aim for it to be accurate and available but cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or that a particular file will be cleaned. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss, and our liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the preceding twelve months.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the date below changes when we do, and continued use means you accept the new version. Questions go through the contact page.
